About this speaker
Originally from New York City, I've lived in Savannah, Georgia for the past 10 years, where I work in private practice as a certified perinatal therapist. My practice centers on women's mental health through the reproductive lifespan – from pre-conception to pregnancy to postpartum to loss, abortion, infertility, and adoption, and onward to perimenopause and menopause. My work is deeply rooted in anti-oppressive social work practice, and I'm motivated by compassion and respect my clients' autonomy, identity, dignity, and empowerment – all of which can be in short supply during the perinatal period.
My clinical style is psychodynamic, feminist, and trauma-informed. I've also received advanced training in Internal Family Systems (Level 1), Somatic Experiencing, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and yoga therapy.
I'm currently a board member of the Georgia chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and have volunteered with PSI in some capacity since 2015. In 2022, I founded the Georgia Fund for Perinatal Mental Health, which offers fully funded therapy to uninsured and underinsured perinatal individuals in our state. I'm also a proud founding member of the Maternal Mental Health Collective of Savannah.
Outside of work, I'm a mom to two girls (8 and 11) and one elderly dog. I come to perinatal work very honestly via my own lived experience with infertility, IVF, and postpartum depression and anxiety. Before I became a social worker, I worked as a writer and editor, and recently started a Substack in hopes of reconnecting with my writer parts (when they feel up for it). My other great passions are reading, yoga, and swimming in the ocean as much as possible.
Thank you so much for including me in this incredible event!
