About this speaker
Shanon Williams-Hughes is a trauma-informed care advocate, speaker, and founder of Self Care Housekeeping and the Spatial Health & Wellness Institute, where she teaches the connection between our spaces and our mental well-being. With a background in social work and over a decade of experience in conflict mediation, community wellness, and mutual aid, Shanon’s work centers on healing environments that help mothers and families thrive.
Her innovative approach to spatial health weaves together behavioral health, trauma healing, and home organization, offering mothers tools to transform chaotic spaces into calm, restorative ones—even in the face of overwhelm, grief, executive dysfunction, or generational trauma.
Shanon is also the creator of the “Ouchie! Journal”, a guided tool that helps caregivers record children's preverbal painful or traumatic experiences, so they can be gently shared and processed later in life. The journal supports emotionally attuned parenting by preserving narratives that would otherwise go unspoken or forgotten.
At the intersection of motherhood, mental health, and healing justice, Shanon’s work reminds us that caring for our space can be a sacred act of self-preservation and a path back to ourselves.
