About this speaker
Sunita Theiss is an autistic and ADHD mother, writer, and advocate dedicated to supporting families navigating connection-based parenting. As a homeschooling parent to two neurodivergent children, she understands the delicate balance between family expectations, personal capacity, and self-compassion while supporting children with unique needs.
With a background in communications, digital marketing, and advocacy, Sunita combines practical tools with a deep understanding of the emotional and cultural complexities of parenting neurodivergent children. She is a regular contributor to PDA North America and Key Ministry, and her writing has been nominated for Best of the Net.
A second-generation Indian-American, Sunita is passionate about culturally responsive parenting support, helping families integrate faith, heritage, and community expectations with approaches that honor both the parents’ values and their child’s lived experience.
Sunita believes that we can’t honor our children’s capacity without also honoring our own. She is committed to helping parents find sustainable, affirming ways to support their children without burning out.
